NuMe Pearl Hair Wand

I've written a few posts on my obsession with hair tools and how I've been notoriously known as the "girl with the mermaid hair" haha Oh those college hair days have long been over, but these pics are pretty much how I looked in college!

Here are some of my college hair sporting days

In case you've missed my other hair tools posts, re read them here!

On to the new tool, The NuMe Pearl wand

Was your first thought a sexual one when seeing the actual tool? LOL I know I was like, "Woah! I'm suppose to curl my hair with this?!"

I first got the idea for this new curling clipless wand from the beautiful Cara Loren.

Here's her tutorial if you need one. I didn't use any of the products she used, I just washed and dried my hair normally and then used the wand!

Here's another tutorial I also watched

Here's my outcome!

Yes, the hair tool was 119 bucks. I got mine on Amazon since it appears to be sold out on NuMe's direct website. I told ya my hair was a guilty pleasure of mine! :)

This tool gives you a much more beachy wave than just the standard clip less curling iron.

Anyone else have this hair tool and tried it out?

Book Review/Product Review

I just finished the second novel called Reflected in You by Sylvia Day.

I still have to say, I like the 50 Shades series best! This book and it's characters are just like the 50 shades books, just with different names and such.

Product Review

I saw this pin on Pinterest, which I even follow the lovely Cara over at Maskcara blog to read more about her sally hansen experience.

I tried this out for X Mas eve, and  I was excited that you could "rub it in" to help control the application of the tanner.

But that's sadly where my "likes" for this product ends.

This product rubs off on anything you wear, and I have yet to wash my sheets to see if it comes out or if I now have stained sheets.

Result:

I feel that I get a more tanned result with using Jergens tinted lotion than I did using this stuff.

In my opinion, SKIP IT!

I've even recently tried the famous "Airbrush" tanner, but that makes a HUGE mess when trying to "Spray" it on you, and stains your floor or anything it else it touches.

Oceanside, CA Name This House!

I logged onto facebook the other day and a friend of mine tagged themselves here.

Anyone recognize this famous house?

My friend took this photo

I'll give you a hint

HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE!!!

The Graves house on the corner of Pacific Street & Seagaze Drive is named for Dr. Henry Graves who built it in 1887. It’s one of the oldest houses in Oceanside. Today, the house commonly known as the “Top Gun” house, because it appeared in the 1986 blockbuster movie “Top Gun” as the home of character “Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Blackwood’s” (Kelley McGillis).

Check out the house back in 1887

According to my friend, the person who owns it is building condos all around it which makes me sad, yet they leave the house up and do nothing to it. I Mean some one should come in and restore the famous house! (Just in my opinion!)

It's always intriguing to me to see just from 1986 to now how much the area has "changed".

At least the people who own the original Home alone house in chicago didn't let it look like this, or the people that own the original Father of The Bride house, even the people who own the house used in "The Chistmas Story" took the time to restore the house.

If you missed those posts, you can find them here, here,  and here!

peace in the valley- Sunday Tune

Everyone that "knows" me knows my love for Elvis Presley, and how I've always said, joked, that I'd name a future unborn daughter Presley! :)

Anyway, I thought this song was fitting for this Sunday, especially after this tragic weekend.

Here's Aspen and I our Sunday picture together before I head to church!

Every time I wear polka dots I can't help but sing the little diddy from Madagascar 2 where Chris Rock is the voice of the Zebra

Ah well rather than try to explain it, here's a video clip. Anyone with kids will get it! :)

God and Schools

I think this pretty much sums it up.

This is why our nation is falling apart. For all those idiots that even wanted to remove GOD from our money, you don't take away from which this country was founded upon!
I think our founding fathers are rolling in their graves with how we behave today as a country!

****The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.*****

My confession:

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat...

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school... The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about.. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

PS to the jack wagon female who sent me a comment about not everyone believes in God blah blah I should be careful of what I write--
THIS IS MY BLOG my opinion my views. You don't like it, and or don't agree, then DONT bother to comment to let me know you don't!

Thanks! :)

A Heavy Heart: Prayers for New Town, CT

As I taught art to my kinders today, I looked around at each one of their sweet innocent faces and teared up thinking of those little 5 yr olds that were murdered today in Connecticut. A week before Christmas. May God be with with the families of those children lost.
