I spent all morning on YOUTUBE learning out how to properly put in my new hair extensions!

How did I do?!

I never ever thought I'd be "that girl" with fake hair but I have to admit, I LOVE them! This was a christmas present to myself, as hair is not a cheap thing to purchase!

I asked a ton of people, watched reviews online and decided I'd go with LacedHairExtensions. The lovely Aubrey Kinch was the first person I knew to actually get them, and try them out. I asked her if picking up her old extensions from Sallys was just as good. She told me she'd never go back and that was that! As soon as she uttered those words I decided it was a done deal.

I've always been that girl who could never grow her hair out past the boob area. I am a natural blonde, who has never dyed my hair or permed it or anything of the sorts, so it's always been strange to me that even with the best of care, I could never get my hair to grow long!

I think I've tried every product under the sun and have just come to terms that some people, myself included, just can't grow their hair a certain length!

I purchased the 18/22 highlight lowlight mix (top seller)
and am happy I did. A lot of people think I am a straight up bleach blonde, when in fact my hair is quite dirty blonde (what us blondes call "dark" underneath!)

The shipping was uber fast too! Total win in my book!

NuMe Pearl Hair Wand

I've written a few posts on my obsession with hair tools and how I've been notoriously known as the "girl with the mermaid hair" haha Oh those college hair days have long been over, but these pics are pretty much how I looked in college!

On to the new tool, The NuMe Pearl wand

Was your first thought a sexual one when seeing the actual tool? LOL I know I was like, "Woah! I'm suppose to curl my hair with this?!" 

I first got the idea for this new curling clipless wand from the beautiful Cara Loren.

Here's her tutorial if you need one. I didn't use any of the products she used, I just washed and dried my hair normally and then used the wand!

Yes, the hair tool was 119 bucks. I got mine on Amazon since it appears to be sold out on NuMe's direct website. I told ya my hair was a guilty pleasure of mine! :) 

This tool gives you a much more beachy wave than just the standard clip less curling iron. 

Anyone else have this hair tool and tried it out?

Waves vs curls

Many have inquired about my hair and how I curl it.

I've been meaning to do a post on it, but haven't had time in oh say the last 2 months of craziness with school and such! 

I swear I own every curling, crimping, wave tool there is! 

I recently tried out this new clamp-less curling iron by Hot Tools since everyone "LOVES" hot tools. 

The Green one (one on the left) is the first clip less curling iron I bought months ago. The white one is the one I got a week ago. 

Can you tell in these pictures which was curling with a REGULAR curling iron, and which was curled with a clip less iron?

Clip less curling irons are not all that difficult to use, but I found that the hot tools iron, was difficult to use since the barrel is inconsistent with width. It starts out larger at the base and thins out towards the tip. The little stand that holds the iron up off the counter is super annoying and totally gets in the way of wrapping your hair around the barrel. 

I will be returning the Hot Tools Iron to Ulta and sticking with my first clip less curling iron

I will say I have fallen into the trap of seeing cute hair on somebody else and then running out to find that exact tool they may or may have not used on their hair. 

Biggest lesson learned in being a hair freak is that everyone's hair is DIFFERENT. So what may look good on you may not look good on others depending on their hair type and such. 

Wedding Fear

The only fear I worry.dread.fear. on my wedding day, is being disappointed with my hair. 

I am a FREAK about my hair. No joke. 

My fear you ask?

My fear is that on my "big day", that I will be unhappy with my hair do. So often hair stylists like to give me the "prom" look. Y'all know what I mean by that right?

Case in point I was in my friend's wedding in 2009 and paid 90 dollars for what I thought was going to be a fancy UP DO that I couldn't do myself right?

WRONG

I was furious. Unfortunately I let my big head er hair get the best of me, and I shed a few tears for all the wrong reasons on my best friends wedding. Selfish? Probably. I was just mad I paid so much money for hair do that I curl all the time without the assistance of a stylist! 

So what constitutes as a non prom up do look?

These pictures depict hair styles I know for a fact that I cannot do myself.

I'm more than likely going to have my hair all the way up. It will be extremely windy along the beach, and what's the point in a hair style styled down, when the curls will get all knotted and such?

I don't know! I keep changing my mind!

Another factor I have to deal with is going to salon in Hawaii that obviously I've never been to, so I'm hoping that won't be a disaster. We are in fact flying into Hawaii 2 days early, so that is 2 days I can of trial hair! 

All I know is, NO PROM HAIR! 

the time i blogged about my love for a shaving razor

Okay so a while back the lovely Erin over at Living in Yellow blogged how Schick contacted her about their new razor that was going to make a debut in a few months, and the first few ppl to ask for a new razor would get one in the mail.  You can read about  it here in Erin's page.

I got one in the mail and OH EM GEE girls I'm in LOVE. I've been using it since I got it..which for razor life has been over a good month. 

I officially went to Target today and bought my first refill razor heads. GOOD BYE GILETTE Venus whatever the heck I was using. 

The razors don't even compare. AT ALL. The Schick razor lasts ridiculously long, The “head” of the razor dispenses it’s own moisturizing serum that hydrates as you shave.That has to be my favorite part of the razor. Not to mention more blades than the Gilette one and a better shape of a head which makes the hard to shave areas way easier. 

I kid you not, RUN don't walk and get this razor. You can thank me later when you get it and use it!!! Take it from the girl that shaves EVERYDAY that this razor is worth every penny! And razors are ridiculously expensive I know! 


I have 4 Venus Embrace Cartridges brand new if anyone wants to buy them off of me! 

On a side note...

I know girls rave about "hot tools" curling iron, but I have to rave I really like Con Air curling irons. My remington iron was on the fritz and I didn't hesitate to replace it with the iron I use pretty much every time I curl my hair! 

These are only a few of the irons I use. I have just about every iron there is when it comes to curling and crimping my hair. I still have my crimper from MIDDLE SCHOOL! It's by Vidal Sasson! 

Remington irons in my opinion, don't grasp or hold the hair well at least for my hair type. It would slide right through and I wasn't digging that.

Product Review C Mae Style

I've been meaning to blog about these products that I am NOT so crazy about for like the past year, but never got around to it till this incredibly boring saturday lol (It's been filled with non stop  college opener football games on TV so what better time to blog than now about them?)

I am for sure the biggest hair snob you'll ever meet. I am SUPER picky about everything having to do with the hair on my head. If there is one area of consumer waste I contribute to or am guilty of, it's wasting money on freakin Shampoo/Conditioner.

All last year, people raved about Pureology hair care.

I was like...hmmmmm 

Okay I'll try it out.

Why people think this is a good shampoo:

Pureology formulas are 100% vegan and sulfate-free, and guaranteed to keep your color lasting longer. As seen in VOGUE, O Magazine, Redbook and Allure.

Um yeah SUCH A SCAM. 

They are sulfate free, which means they don't Lather up like normal shampoo, so I had to keep telling myself that every time I washed my hair with them.

My Hair didn't feel any more moisturized or restored with this shampoo. In fact it felt worse! The conditioner has no moisture in it! 

This is one salon hair care line I say SKIP!!!!

Next up:

The infamous Moroccan Oil 

Again, I saw NO CHANGE with using this shampoo. I rank it with like using Suave Shampoo. 

A V E R A G E 

The Oil which costs an arm and leg SUCKS!!! I went through the whole bottle forcing myself to use it up since it costs so much!

You want soft hair, I recommend these

Farouk Repair and Shine Serum

Farouk Sunglitz Treatment 

I LOVE THESE! 

Farouk is obviously a salon name, not drug store brand, so you have to more than likely get these online as I do. 

To use: A small amount no bigger than a Quarter, rub in damp hair before you blowdry or air dry your hair! 

Since I've tried every shampoo out there, these are the ones I rotate in my shower:

Shocked to see an el cheapo shampoo listed? My hair totally responds well to Herbal Essenses Hello Hydration like it's new shampoo every time I wash it in it!

OH EM GEE. FOR REALS.

She ain't lying.

The stuff totally dries in sixty seconds and not a smudge or anything since I've applied it!

A long while back, somewhere in blog world I had read to try Essie's Quick dry drops. 

Don't spend money on this!!!! The Sally Hanson Product blows this way out of the water!!!!! I Promise!!!

My picture isn't as pretty as this via a cell phone and I had to take it with my other hand which is hard to do when you are photographing your other hand! haha

I only did 2 coats of the color. 

July Wishlist!

School is literally creeping right around the corner. And am excited about going back? Meh....Not so much. I have a TON of setting up to do in my new art room. 


The only thing in my sights is P A Y D A Y at the end of August. I totally fudged on my summer pay this year, thus leaving me with NO money for really the month of August. Yeah it's been fun.




But if I did have money, and was keeping up with y'all's cute finds and such...These things would be on my want need wish list! 




Lots of you ladies rave about this dry shampoo. It's first on my list. I am going to openly admit after a day of not washing my hair, it looks like a giant grease pit at the roots. Grosses me out. 

There are many different brands out there. What does everyone use/and or recommend?

French Braids.

I heart braids.  They are so elegant looking. Sheik. I learned to braid on all my favorite dolls. Especially this one.

In fact, I think I braided all my barbies hair once I learned how.  It's nice to see braids have made a comeback.  Only problem these days, is that cutesy little side swept braid doesn't look so "Hot" a girl with bangs!

Considering I have had bangs my whole life. this exact look probably won't be so cute on me.  But a girl can dream. :)

Transitioning......
No art to post today, my students haven't created anything in 3 wks because of X mas break!  I still have X mas stuff hanging in the halls till they create new art to put up!

I started washing my hair with that WEN hair care and I have to say I am HOOKED and will never ever buy another shampoo or conditioner or any hair product other than hair spray ever again!!!! Not sure like I was? buy a bottle on E Bay and you'll find yourself saying OMG throughout the day about how awesome your hair will be!

Today my 5th graders that were suppose to have art didn't show up bec we had an assembly.  SO...........I had some free time on my hands.........tee hee.

Well that's all folks......time to head in to my second job...UGH aka waitressing.....
