Do you ever stumble upon something so simple that resonates so deeply with you?

This quote for me is a great reminder of who I strive to be, and how I expect all my students to take from me as their teacher.

Note to Bloggers

How many of you follow over 200+ blogs like me?
Okay I told a lie. LOL look closely. 188. Guess in my mind that's close to 200 right? tee hee.

How many of you actually comment on each and every blog?
( I don't. It's hard to keep up!)

Let's be real. Some of you I adore and read like 2 times a day. I relate to many of you, and thus these are the people I comment on fairly often, added on Facebook, and email regularly, and not all that short from exchanging digits with to text. :) LOL

However, some post wayyyyyyyy to much. As in more than 3 posts a day I'm not going to read em all. Sorry. A little to much time on your hands there! That's why you can SAVE posts for the NEXT day friends! just a helpful tip there! :) I will admit, if I've had a heck of a day where I posted first thing in the AM and something exciting happens, I may post again before going to bed but that's it! excessive posting is like asking me not to read what you write anymore. Just sayin.....

Then there are those who well.....write about the most random sh*t (sorry no nice way to say it) and day after day it shows up in my reader and I never comment well just simply because I cannot really relate your post to me. Some posts I read, I think Hmmmmmmm.... then then no thoughts come to my mind as to what to comment on your post! :( And I totally get some are having babies (i'm not so I can't relate and all they wanna post about is baby baby baby) And some are posting wedding (that doesn't bother me so much bec I'm like most girls a dreamer, and it's fun to see the pictures, the planning, the dresses all the details) And some are posting well Hate towards men and bad break ups and what not. Some are posting all about pets and I can proudly say I never tire of reading those! Some post merely on fashion, celebs, and make up. Okay from time to time. I comment here and there on those.

Make sense right? There are some blogs I started off following heavily in the beginning, and now they either don't update as much anymore (as I am sure life has totally gotten in the way or laziness. One of the two) and then there are just that well no offense just BORE ME! sorry. So dear bloggy friends, if maybe your following numbers go down, I don't mean to offend by not following you anymore, it's just if I haven't commented on your posts in like decades, then I am just not with you or can't really relate to you these days! No harm in being honest right?

I have a few new bloggy beauties that show up in my window and I go to click on your gorgeous little faces and I am instantly saddened, because you have not shared the link back to your own blog. Call me crazy but isn't that why you are on here? To share a bit of your life to strangers? Making networking connections? Friends? etc etc. If you don't show your link to your own blog, how can I ever blog hop on over to you and see what your world is about when you can so see into mine? Just sayin........

See these? these are your faces! when I click on them I wanna see the link to either an email to write you back or the link to your blog!  Go into your settings will fix this peeps!

I do my best to write back to comments written to me. Although I will admit I am more of a gracious blogger in the sense of I don't always write back, just know I did read what you wrote and am grateful you stop by to even comment! :)

I do love my followers. Truly I do. I'm nothing special. I feel like the opening quote in the Notebook should be inserted here:

“I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.”

15 Years Ago Today...

15 years ago today, my sweet mother passed away when I was only 13 yrs old. I was in the 8th grade. My brother was only 9 yrs old and in the 3rd grade.

In Hawaii when I was in 2nd grade with my mom and dad.

December 7th is usually remembered for Pearl Harbor and what Japan did to Hawaii.

For me it's a day of remember what little memories I have left in my mind of my mother. Losing a parent in 1995 was UNHEARD of. Unless it was some sort of freak accident or car accident. Cancer in an immediate parent just didn't happen back then. Cancer was such a foreign word to me, or any child my age.

My 8th grade team had a team meeting when my mom passed. (like a mini assembly explaining to my classmates that my mother had died) How many of you have had gatherings or assemblies when you were a child explaining such notions of a parent dying possibly a friend of yours parent? It was just unheard of. Didn't happen. Till mine went.

I had a happy child hood. My mother was the epitome was a perfect woman. She married her high school sweetheart (my dad) She waited five years to have her first child. She owned her own business. She was a girl scout troop leader. She was tall, thin, beautiful and never swore or drank or even really got mad about anything. She loved roses. But most of of all, she loved her kids. My brother and I always came first. We were spoiled (not in a bad way) My mom was quite the garage sale shopper and could find amazing toys for sale!!!

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993. I remember the day she told me. I cried my eyes out. I thought right then and there she was going to die. Call it child instinct. Of course she put on her brave face, and told me as any mother would tell their child that "everything was going to be fine." She had a breast removed. It wasn't to be saved at the stage it was at.

1994 My mother has Kidney Cancer and has a kidney removed. In remission for one cancer and hit with another. Her kidney came out and thus my mother's health deteriorated quickly. She died in my childhood home in our living room. It's a memory that stays with me forever. I don't think any child should have to remember seeing their parent get zipped up in a body bag or watch the Funeral people take her away in their hurst.

Cancer is bad. So young beautiful readers if you read this, TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY. Unless you don't want kids and think you live in the bubble that nothing bad can happen to you, then rock on your bad ways. But bad things do happen to good people. Bill Joel sings it in his song, Only the good die young. Ain't that the truth. She was 39. I'm 28!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even imagine dying that young!
Do your part and be careful. WEAR SUNSCREEN you foolish sun worshipers. DON'T SMOKE. DONT do DRUGS.

I leave you with my favorite Dave Matthews Band. Celebrate we will for life is short but sweet for certain.

Cherish every moment you have with your parents. You'll never get those days back. No one lives forever. Be good to them. They brought you into this world, no one should have to see them go as young as I did.

Here are a few pictures of my mom.
High school senior dance my dad and mom!! Check out my dad's checkered pants! I love this photo it's so faded I'm crazy bout it's vintage appeal!

Early 1990s for sure. haha My mom flipped my bangs out like she had curled hers.

My mom's work attire for owning her own Secretarial Business.

Her Senior Year of HS...not sure what year..1970 something...

Rising Costs of Shopping!? Ugh

Kinda burnt out on all the "Gossip" blog posts for now. Time to write a serious one.

Is it just me, or does anyone else DREAD buying groceries? 3 to 4 years ago, I used to spend 60-80 dollars on groceries just for me. This would last me probably 2-3 weeks.

Lately, all  I hear on the news, radio, Glenn Beck, etc etc is rising prices of well just about EVERYTHING.

I hate spending money on food. HATE IT. I can't help but feel it's such a waste! You hardly get anything and it's all so expensive!

This leads me to my guilt diary blog entry......

Gulp. I am going to be in so much trouble if Mister Wonderful reads this post.

I went to the mall yesterday to start/finish my X mas shopping. I was able to get some of the things I needed for my stocking person this year. But in true C Mae fashion, instead of getting back into my car after the one store, I made the uber mistake of walking into the mall.......

Mister Wonderful and I have been working real hard on getting my CC bills down. I have NEVER had any CC debt till I moved this summer. I had like 5,000 saved in my savings, which soon got depleted when I had to rent a U haul, then a cargo van to move my school stuff, first months bills, converting my CO plates to AZ (Any az resident knows it's very expensive to get your license plates!) followed by endless "little" things.

Well, I owe like 700 dollars on my one CC bill. (Vet visit bills and other things) and I owed just 300 on the other one because I made a 500 dollar payment on it 2 weeks ago.

After my mall trip, I added up my receipts. Drum Roll. I so totally spent everything that I had just paid off 2 weeks ago, and I 'm NOT EVEN DONE X MAS SHOPPING!!!!!

I felt such tremendous guilt as I'd sign my name to the receipts. To the point where I was almost shaking with nervousness. As if I was committing a crime! That's how bad I felt about everything! I know most say shopping is like retail therapy for them. Not me! more like it will put me in therapy for everything I spent!

I hadn't bought any new clothes since moving here really. Last shopping trip I had was when mister wonderful and I went to Vegas in June. So needless to say I was going through major withdrawl.

I couldn't believe though, price tags on clothes. I mean just to buy say two sweaters it costs around 100 bucks! I look back and thought, were my clothes always this ridiculously expensive? Was I just feeling the pinch more because I am no longer waitressing 4 nights a week? Is it okay to spend 60 dollars on a sweater?

Yes, these are 2 of the sweaters that I got from the Limited ( they give a Teacher discount so here I think I'm saving big right? )

...:::::::sigh::::::::.....
I heart the limited. It's perfect for teaching and perfect for just my everyday clothes or dress up going out clothes. I am def way past the buy-a-cute-wear-once-to-the-bar-types-of-shirts. Those days are well kinda so in the past for me!

I'm not a "sale" shopper kind of girl. Never have been. I can never get my size or the 'exact' one thing I wanted if I 'wait" for the good price Blah. I'm no walmart apparel shopper either. Not my thing.

Maybe this is my problem. Or isn't it?

Reality is prices on EVERYTHING is going up. Our value of our dollar is pretty much nothing. It's no wonder China is super pissed at the US.

End guilt post. For those who actually read it-Kudos!

Bisphenol A in your pocket-receipts contain BPA

Rather than type up another huge post that 35+ bloggers will read and NOT comment on, I just thought you all should know those lovely receipts that you carry, have BPA in them. Should you care to know more, you can read about it here.
