Product Review

So recently I went in to Macys' and explored "Origins' products. 

About a week ago, lovely Megan over at My Two Cents spoke highly of liking this tinted moisturizer by Origins. VitaZing. I have never seen any change from using Jergens facial tinted lotion and thought I would give this a whirl. 

It's perfect for those days when you are not wanting a full face of make up on, because this can act as a base foundation. 

Well when I went in to Macys' I seriously had the sweetest Makeup sales girl helping me out. She asked me about my Exfoliator I was using. I told her, "St' Ives Apricot Scrub". 

Which is  a really good scrub, but never left my face feeling Smooth like a baby's butt. 

She gave me a sample of this exfoliator she wanted me to try so I figured why not. 

Origin's Modern Friction Exfoliator is THE BOMB.

 I LOVE IT.

 I ended up making a trip back a week later, to but a full bottle of it. 

Something to know up front about it, you apply it to a DRY face. No water!?! Yep, no water. I RINSE my face AFTER the application. It's really good stuff.

Downside?

Um, it's a $40.00 dollar exfoliator. 

I must have a thing for expensive face products I tell ya. 

But I wasn't about to feel bad about spending it, since I haven't bought myself any new clothes in months I figured I could let some face care products work their way into my alloted budget for the week! 

Does anyone else use any Origins?

Oh my lord. 

Did I mention that Tribble friended me on Twitter? And he even responds to tweets! He earns cool points in my book for that!

You don't see these type of drop dead beauties on ABC's the Bachelor, I can tell you this much! 

He has his work cut out for him!

I think some of these pictures don't do these ladies justice, but I think Paige is a knock out brunette! She sends a good message (She was stripped of her beauty queen title bec some photos that she took when she was 18 were leaked out by her then boyfriend)

I love this girl. Courtney Wilkerson. I think she is the most NOT overly, but genuinely naturally PRETTY. 

And I LOVE Tristan Smith. Hands down the best southern belle on the show. What a cutie. 

I know this post was primarily based on looks, but their personalities haven't really been shown to much from the first episode!!

Mammogram 411

I am!

Errr.. I mean, my boobs are! 

Yesterday I had my first mammogram. 

I'm 29.

In case you missed my last post, I had to have one this young, because when someone in your immediately family dies of it, it becomes a requirement (doc's orders)

I won't sugar coat anything since I'm pretty sure the majority of you bloggers are younger than me, and have yet to experience what I got to go through yesterday. 

I will say this. I was mortified, embarrassed, shy, but only AT FIRST. I couldn't believe how much the woman RN pretty much "man handles" my boobs. (One at a time of course)

I kept telling myself to relax, that this was their job. That they probably see so many boobs in one day, they couldn't keep em all straight. 

I will be open and honest and say I was really crushed when they wouldn't let Mister Wonderful in the room with me even though he brought his RN badge and all. I mean I was terrified. 

I kept thinking to myself, what if they find something? Would this mark the beginning of the end for me? 

I  had a fraidy-cat mentality...

But that was the thing...it was just MENTAL. 

Sure, it sucked that some stranger nurse lady touched/squeezed/handled my ta tas. I just told my self is this worse than the gyno? 

NO way. I think the gyno is worse. I mean what's the most guarded part on a woman's body that is super private? I'd say the Va-jay-jay wouldn't you!?!

Boobs are nothin! 

The highlight of my day had to of been when the nurse announced to me,

"Good news! You have breast tissue of a 13 yr old!"

My first immediate thought: 

(Should I respond happy or mad she said that?!)

"Uh"..........

Nurse: 

"That's great! Mean's your boobs haven't changed at all." She did then explain to me that this wouldn't be forever. In fact, she said once you have your first child, that's usually when they first change. If you never have children, then they will change with aging as we get much older.

Ah so she wasn't making a comment or reference to the fact that I am not a large chested girl...

I was given my results right then and there on the spot. 

And just for the record, I LOVE not having boobs that are big. I take great pride that I can wear XS T-Shirts and bathing suit tops. I Take great pride that when I am talking to a guy, that they are looking AT MY FACE and not staring at my chest. Whew!

So girls, there you have it. Get em checked. Better safe than sorry. 

I've got to go now, once a year and have this done since my mom died of Breast Cancer.

No biggie. I had my big girl panties on. You can do it too!

Movie Review!

I don't think I've had to give a bad movie review. Last night Mister Wonderful and I went to see this movie. We had movie passes and went to see it last weekend, but the passes we had we had to go before a six pm show! Let me cut to the chase,

this movie has a good plot, but is VERY slow. I could easily see Mister Wonderful getting very bored and antsy in his seat!

If you don't like Politics, then don't see this movie. 

If you get easily bored, then don't see this movie. 

Breast Cancer Awareness

So I've mentioned a time or two on here that my mom passed away when I was only 13 of breast cancer. The year was 1995. She was only 39. THIRTY NINE. 

There has been a lot tweeting and trending on Breast Cancer since 

Giuliana Depandi Rancic 

let the world know she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. 

Although what is happening to Giuliana is bad, I feel relief because well, she is a celeb. And with her stardom, she is able to aware and create national awareness to those of us who think "nothing bad can happen to me" world. Yes, YOU reader who's reading this! You are NOT invisible! 

Here are some other women I admire, for sharing their stories and awareness tied in with their fame.

Kylie Minogue 

– famed international pop star and celeb Kylie Minogue OBE is another breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Hot shot Kylie underwent surgery and then chemotherapy to fight the breast cancer and has since made a full recovery. She likened the episode to being hit by a nuclear bomb.

Carly Simon

 – Famed singer and celebrity Carly Simon has battled with breast cancer. Following a mastectomy in 1997 she has made a full recovery.

Nancy Reagan – 

Husband of former US president Ronald Reagan, Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. The diagnosis followed a routine breast screening using a mammogram and highlights the effectiveness of this diagnostic tool. Following a mastectomy in which her left breast was removed she survived the breast cancer. National coverage of this event led many women across the US to have mammograms.

Sheryl Crow

 – singer and songwriter Sheryl Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and has since survived this disease.

Suzanne Somers 

– Suzanne Somers interview with Larry King Live raised awareness of breast cancer when she announced that she was diagnosed and had been battling with this disease since 2001. Suzanne Somers is a famed actress, author and businesswoman.

Kate Jackson – 

Actress and personality, Kate Jackson, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. Kate played one of the Charlie's Angels in this hit 1970s TV series.

Melissa Etheridge –

 Musician Melissa Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2004 and has survived this disease. Melissa emphasized the role nutrition has on healing the body and how eating healthily can improve prognosis. Melissa's website includes a dedicated breast cancer awareness page.

Betty Ford 

– Betty Ford, former first lady, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1974. Betty Ford had a mastectomy to treat this disease. Betty was one of the first famed women to discuss this type of surgery and place it firmly in the public eye. Ford made a full recovery surviving breast cancer and continues to live a full life. Betty Ford is now in her 90's.

Edie Falco –

 Sopranos actress Edie Falco was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. Only after receiving treatment did she announce that she had been quietly battling with breast cancer for some time.

Christina Applegate

The star of NBC’s Up All Night was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 at the age of 38. After discovering that she carried the BRCA gene, she decided to get a double masectomy to prevent relapse. She has since shared her story publicly on Oprah and founded her own charity, Right Action for Women (RAW), which helps women receive proper screening for prevention.


Shirley Temple Black

Diagnosed in 1972, the former child star has been reported to be the first celebrity to go public with a breast cancer diagnosis.






Olivia Newton-John

The singer and actress has been a champion for early breast cancer detection awareness since her 1992 diagnosis.
She has become a dedicated advocate and product spokesperson (she's especially involved in the Liv-Kit, a breast self-examination product), as well as a general advocate for holistic health and partial owner of Australia's Gaia Retreat and Spa.
Wanda Sykes

During an episode of the Ellen Degeneres Show, the comedian opened up about her battle with the disease and shared that she elected to have a mastectomy.
Cynthia Nixon

The Sex and the City star was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, but didn't go public with her battle until 2008, when she told her story on Good Morning America. She's since become a breast cancer awareness advocate and Ambassador for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.






Jacyln Smith

Diagnosed with the disease in 2002, the Charlie's Angels star has this advice for anyone facing breast cancer: Don’t go it alone. “I believe in the power of girlfriends,” Smith told Prevention magazine. “I believe that family and friends, and especially other women, can make a profound difference during cancer treatment.”


There are SOO many more to add to this list. If you don't know who some of these famous people are, GOOGLE them. Learn. Educate yourself. 
                               The other thing I love about Fall FOOTBALL 

is how many of the football teams wear PINK durning their games. 

I am actually headed to the Gyno today, well it will be yesterday by the time this posts. Last year I was suppose to get my first mammogram, but to be completely honest, I CHICKENED OUT. I had it in my mind, dude, I'm only 28 I'm young it can wait. Well now I'm 29. And my mother died of it. It's time C Mae. Grow some balls (not really) but you know what I mean. And get in to get checked out. You are never Too young to be safe rather than sorry. NEVER.

Footloose Old VS New

On Saturday, with a friend, against my first initial thought, we went and saw "Footloose" the remake.

I will be very upfront and say I LOVE the 80s one with Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, and Chris Penn.

That's SJP (Sarah Jessica Parker) Above (incase you live under a rock and didn't know she was in footloose) She plays Rusty in the original. 

 I own the original on DVD. So I knew going into it, that I was pretty sure I wouldn't "love" this remake just bec of the fact that is was a REMAKE! 

It was "cute". Julianne Hough is not as skinny minnie as her days on Dancing with the stars! 

the lead actor who played Ren is really in fact from Boston, so his accent was genuine! 

What I did love about the movie was hearing a track in the film called "FAKE ID" by Big & Rich feat Gretchen Wilson 

I immediately came home and downloaded the song. 

The only thing I liked about the movie was the new guy who played Willard. He totally made the movie.
