Okay.  I have a question for you bloggers.

VS

Is it weird to add fellow Blog "friends" to your "Friends" On Facebook? I ask because I have  found some of you on FB! And you all look just as lovely on your default pics as you do on your Blog pics!

I ask because, well, if you add someone to Facebook from Blogging, anything you have not mentioned in the blog, becomes well ahem.....all hanging out there to see ( like your birthday, where you live, your first and last name, where you went to college, your husband/boyfriend/fiancee' name etc etc) and if you are a blogger that hasn't let all bloggers know this kind of info does Facebook reveal to much?

Or is facebook like blogging in the sense of...you use it to well network? Meet people. Talk to new people.

Or are you the other type? Facebook is only for "Real" people you know.


Thoughts please...as I have said, I found a few of ya on FB and thought about adding y'all, but wasn't sure if that was kosher or not with everyone.

Misc Monday

I will be the first to admit, I did not like Dumb and Dumber when it first came out years ago. I thought how do people actually find this type of movie funny? Well the other day it was on Tv and Mister Wonderful had it on, I started to watch it, and I cracked up over this part. For the rest of the evening I kept giggling to myself thinking of this part over and over. Jim Carrey is the man.




I've been on a shopping restriction, but over the weekend, it became apparent that we couldn't go any longer without not having measuring cups for cooking, so I stopped off at a place called World Market (pretty cool store think Pier 1 but not as pricy!) and picked up these super cute glass storage containers that you can write on with chalk!

I haven't seen any good movies since WallStreet #2 so of course it's Sunday and I have some down time to see some upcoming movie trailers.

Here's one for Adam Sandler. Looks cute. I have always enjoyed his humor.

Love and other drugs
I love Anne Hathaway and Jake. They had great chemistry in Brokeback Mountain, so I am really looking forward to seeing this one!

And what Meet The Fockers movie hasn't been hilarious!?!

Big Hair!

I just love reading Jenn's blog over at West Sac Honey. She recently posted a video on how to curl your hair like hers! Turns out, We both curl our hair with the same size curling iron, the same hair spray, cept I had never pinned my curls up after curling them. So I thought, what the heck else is there to do on this Sat afternoon after the gym?

Here's my outcome. This post is for you Jenn! 

Ta da! My outcome? More poof! LOL not sure if that's bad or good.....I've had a few hairstyles since my college days!

For your viewing pleasure.......

My Crimped hair. Believe it or not, this was a HIT in college and I did it for 4 years(2000-2004)! Girls bugged me left and right how I got my hair like this till they started to release an updated version of the crimper!



And my other famous look.....my super curly hair!

I love my hair here. This was taken 3 years ago.

This is my fave picture of my hair straight. It has taken me a long time to get used to wearing my hair straight! This is what it looks like when I get out of the shower!

I am doing my best to keep my hair long, but do you ever feel as I do, that there is just a certain point your hair will grow to and won't get any longer than it is without getting super ratty? Then you have to cut off all that growth! 

I think my bangs are my battle. I've had bangs my WHOLE life (thanks mom haha) so I get frustrated when they grow bec part of me wants to grow them out and the other part of me knows that I will look silly without them!

To Eat or not to eat....

Did anyone watch Oprah on Monday? I was of course still at work teaching, so I had to recap and watch it on You Tube.

In case you missed it, Oprah had on Ellen Degeneres' wife Portia de Rossi, who opened up about her eating disorder.

At her lowest of 82 ibs

At her best! the day she married Ellen!! :) 

I couldn't help but be fascinated by her story.

Portia, (who's "real" name is Amanda Rogers) began her battle with weight when she landed the role on Ally McBeal. I couldn't help but recall how much scrutiny Calista Flockhart got for being SO SKINNY on that show. I never knew Portia was the one with the actual eating disorder! I had heard all about her co star (former Melrose place star Courtney-Thorne Smith) leaving the show because of the network pressuring her to lose weight. It's no wonder Portia went through what she did!

I went out to buy her book, "Unbearable Lightness." I hope to start reading it this weekend.

Also picked up People on my way to the check out counter at Barnes and Noble when I saw she was on the cover!

I can't help but recall all the famous celebs that have suffered from this. I remember being a small girl, and hearing how devastated my mom was when a singer she liked, Karen Carpenter, died from anorexia.  If you don't know who the Carpenters are, google them! They were famous in the 70s!

I remember reading an article that her brother shared with a magazine about how his sister's eating disorder all started. All because some girl from the music industry suggested her to lose a few pounds to better her "image" in the music industry.

DISGUSTING right!?!?! Who gave them the right to say such things!?!!? GRRRRR!!!


Other anorexics/bulimics

Growing Pains, Tracy Gold.

Mary-Kate Olsen. Let's get real people. Why else does she wear such hideous clothes that are 5 sizes to big for her? she hides it well.

I think this one is the latest celeb in denial about her "problem"

Do celebs think we, the people can't see? ANYONE who is FIT and in shape can clearly see this ISN'T fit or being in shape! Her face is gaunt and larger than her body! her arms look disgusting. She is well boney. Perhaps they do this to give us something to talk about.

There were other stars too, in the early 90s that dealt with eating disorders. Christina Ricci. The red headed girl from Clueless,  Elisa Donovan. 
Susan Dey from The Partridge Family.

 There are TOO MANY to list them all. it's sad. 


Maybe I feel drawn to Portia's story because I feel, that every girl in their own way, even if they are a size 4 like me, struggle with maintaining their weight. No one wants to put on weight. And yet we feed off the comments of you look skinny or have you lost weight? This fuels us to go even further. I'm 5'8" and my weight bounces between 128-131 weekly. Why is being a size 2 or 0 seen as beauty? I don't get it. Men out there--- you like bones? really? Is a woman you love really less beautiful if she adds 5-10 ibs on? It's a harsh world.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd rather be a big slow animal than a JACKa$$!!! Lot of good that has done us people!


As Mister Wonderful has reminded me, It's our DUTY as an American Citizen to make change! So go out and do the right thing! :)

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

My camera that is!  $165 dollar repair. Oh wait. That's right. There was technically NOTHING to repair! Ha! That's what they told me! it was just in desperate need of a deep cleaning...a lot of gunk build up caused my camera's shutter to malfunction, this me freaking out that I had broke my daddy's gift to me (his 1970s) camera that he let me have for Photo classes in College.

Whew! huge sigh of relief! Nothing wrong is GReAT considering how old the sucker is! So I called my dad to find out that the stupid thing has never even had a cleaning in all these years! WOW. Really? It made it from 1970 to 2010 without anything wrong? Now that's what you call a camera well made!!!

Detox update for you all (incase you were wondering) ha..

So that whole trouble with #2 bit I mentioned? WELL....

Since my colon cleanse, and me taking my colon cleanse capsules every night, I can proudly boast that I now got to the bathroom like a normal person! haha At least 2 times a day! That has to be a record!!! Woo hoo! hahahahahah

I have been doing a lot better about drinking more of this...

You would think me living in AZ I'd be thirsty all the time. Negative Ghost rider. But, I have found water to be so much more appealing to drink at home by just adding sliced lemons in my awesome cobalt pitcher that I have had from Pier  1 for a few years. It finally is getting some use again!


Sorry for a lame post, not much exciting going on till mister wonderful comes back from his visiting his fam in Ohio!
