Birthday Discounts my A*#!

I saw this image via pintrest

(no I'm not a member, no I'm not going to join Pintrest either.

FB, Twitter, Tumblr and Blogger is plenty!)

Anyway back to the image! So I immediately fell in love with the pictures above the bed! I was like that's what our guest room is lacking!

Only problem thus far, our guest room bed is pushed against the wall, which is a problem for 2 reasons. 1. it's super hard to make this bed, and 2, I can only fit 2 of the framed pictures above the bed since it isn't a full wall that we have the bed against!

 Frames I got via IKEA.
I'm still working on what images I want in the frames lol me = THE PICKIEST when it comes to that most awesome picture that gets selected to be framed!

This is a shot of our family room photo wall. It's still IP (in progress)
Completed it should be 9 photos total.

On a B I R T H D A Y note....
(my B day is in 8 days)

I pretty much snorted when I opened this. Anthro sent out this fancy little cloth thing, and inside it says save 15%. Wow. So generous of you Anthro!!! Really?? WTF.

That's like sending a b day card saying Happy B day come in and shop and only save on the sales tax! So messed up, no?

Express did the same thing. Like oooh sweet save 15 bucks (yeah only if I use my Express CC in store) EFFF that. I just got that paid off!

Happy Thursday lovely bloggies!

Shutter Love: CRAZY FACES

This week over at Trendy Treehouse the theme was

  CRAZY FACES.

This was a little fun taking retarded pictures of my self being a moron.

Somehow out of all the pictures, I picked this one.

I felt like this captured EXACTLY my mood today since it was the last day of school. The kids were WILD and amped on sugar overload from their pizza parties. And OF COURSE their gracious teachers still somehow dropped them off for their "specials".

Cray Cray on The Bachelorette!

So I watched The Bachelorette via Monday night. Holy moly we have another drama filled season! I feel like one of the contestants on the show, kinda wishing Ashley was another Bachelorette! I know, that's mean, but I def think Ashley S, from last season would have totally been a better fit! She had more of a spark!

Anyway, so far, I must say, I LOVE Ashley H. With BANGS! She actually looks a TON better with them! One of the few people that can wear them well!

I found this picture online. Hilarious. A face she made right after she met BENTLEY. Seriously this guy is a total "knob" as Mister Wonderful would say.

He has a daugther named Cozy. Seriously? Who names their kid that?

Can you image being forty and saying, "Hi I'm Cozy!!" Blah.........kinda reminds me of the Olympic gal with the name Peekabo Streets. Freakin way off the wall from normal.

Back to the douche bag....

Bentley. YUCK. I can already tell I'm not going to love miss Ash since she actually considers this guy her "perfect package guy" really? He's not hot!!!
In case you didn't watch, Ash got some "inside" information that this guy was on the show to basically exploit him self and not there for her in any way.

My Top 2 picks for Ashley are:

\This is William. HELLO gorgeous! I think he's super sweet and should mesh well with Ash.

This is Ryan. Ashley gave him the first impression rose. Well done Ash well done. This guy was alive and had great chemistry with her!

There were one or 2 other Bachelors that had some pretty unique backgrounds on the show, should be interesting to watch it all unfold.

This guy seems interesting, quite the "over achiever" in my book, but I think he has done so much in his life that he is really ready to settle down.

Meet Ames.

Ashley H, is pretty insecure, so I'm not sure if Ames will pan well with her, I can totally see her being like wow this guy has done everything I haven't done much and totally veering away from him.

Who were your picks?

How many of you will be watching Ashley ?

I gotta be honest........ I wasn't jumping for joy when they picked this ashley...I wanted the other Ashley to be the new Bachelorette!

So only time will tell right? Gotta tune in to find out!

Did anyone catch a glimpse of the Billboard awards last night? Since it's currently on TV right now as I write this post, there aren't any pics for me to share!

I thought...

Beyonce ROCKED it, but man, I really really really don't like her new song at all!

I learned that...

Am I the last to piece together that Cee lo Green is Gnarls Barkley? Um yeah, I had no clue on that one. My B.

Britney lost cool points for lip syncing as always then pole dancing...ugh

Loved Ne-yo and Pitbull singing live my current fave song on the radio!

I may have to add to this post tomorrow once pictures turn up on the web! :)

Bridesmaids Was suppose to be Funny?

Okay y'all.

Saw Bridesmaids on a Thursday night with a fellow teacher. Final verdict?

I'd rather go see Something Borrowed TEN MORE TIMES than ever sit through garbage again.

It was being hailed to the female version of the Hangover.
..:::EH::::....

NOT EVEN CLOSE.

First of all, they desperately could of used a real leading star to help carry the film. I found the film to be slow, and really awkward at a lot of times in the film.

I really thought I'd relate to the movie. I mean, my best friend got married 2 years ago and I was her Maid of Honor....I was her only "friend" not "friends" with anyone else in her bridal party. Yeah, no, thats about all I related to the story line.

I'd say SKIP IT and don't rent it either.

Guest Post from Mister Wonderful!

Mr. Wonderful here today...LOL.  Feel kinda weird referring to myself as wonderful, but since that's how everyone knows me on the blog,  I guess we'll keep it that way.  Wanted to share a fantastic recipe I came up with recently...guaranteed to get your morning off to a great start.  Here are Mr. Wonderful's Power Protein Pancakes.

Ingredients:
2 bananas
3 organic eggs
3 heaping tablespoons of ground flax meal
1 heaping tablespoon of unsweetened shredded coconut
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of all natural almond butter
1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder

First step is to place the bananas in a medium/large bowl with the eggs, almond butter, flax meal, shredded coconut, and whey protein.  Once all ingredients are in the bowl, I use a hand held potato masher to mash up the bananas with all the ingredients.

The whey protein I picked up at Costco, along with the eggs.  The rest of the ingredients I purchased from a store called Sprouts.  It's kinda like a Trader Joe's.

After you've mashed up the bananas and look like you have a nice batter forming up, it's time to start heating a skillet up on low-medium heat.  I cook the pancakes in coconut oil.  Coconut oil has many great health benefits, and I actually eat a few tablespoons a day. Read what Dr. Mercola has to say about coconut oil here. Once the oil is in the pan and heated up, take a ladle of batter and pour into the pan.

Let the bottom side cook for a few minutes, maybe 2-3.  Don't let the pan get too hot, or they will burn!! Don't try to flip them too early either, or you will have a mess on your hands.  It takes a little practice.  Put a spatula directly under the bottom and proceed with a solid, quick wrist flip.

Now let the other side cook for about 2 minutes.  After that, repeat the process and you should be able to make about 5-6 pancakes.  I use a small drizzle of blue agave nectar on top, and sometimes a small dollop of some more of the coconut oil.

* Some tips to keep in mind:  If the batter is too loose to start, add some more flax meal - one table spoon at a time.  If the batter is too thick, add 1 egg.

Finally...enjoy!

So what's so good about these pancakes, other than tasting absolutely amazing?  Well we are cutting down on the carbs by substituting the flour with ground flax meal.  Sure, you are getting some carbs from the bananas, but I think it's minimal.  The nutrients you get from the bananas is actually a bonus compared to making regular pancakes.  They are still known as "quite possibly the world's perfect food" for a reason.

You will also feel full for awhile because of the almond butter.  It has a nice amount of high quality "good" fats that will keep you satisfied all morning long.  We also substitute regular syrup with blue agave nectar, which is supposed to be much less glycemic than regular syrup.  Please go light even with the agave nectar though...a little goes a long way!  The pancakes are already somewhat sweet from the bananas.  Last but not least, you are getting a nice shot of high quality protein from the eggs and scoop of whey protein.  Trust me, you can't go wrong with these modified, low-carb pancakes!

Hope some of you try this recipe!  Would love to hear what you think.
