I am beginning to think blogging is bad for my bank account! hee hee. No seriously. The more I blog, the more I find things to spend my little to none teacher paycheck! This artist sells these on Etsy too. Expensive for one little bird, but so worth it. I can't wait to get the one I picked out. :)
I saw the idea for these on another person's blog a while back. She was so kind enough to email me what the heck these boxes were called because I had a hella time trying to find them online! So this is how i spent my saturday afternoon--busy creating these!! Check them out! One is a first aid kit, the other is for my dog.
I have spent the last 4 hours applying for jobs....it's extremely difficult to find teaching jobs in my state right now. Yes, I have my job here in my town for next year, but I am ready for a change even if that means I am headed into the unknown of uncertainty... I won't give up though. Never give up.
Well this is it. Officially my last upload of my student's artwork for the 2009-2010 school year. These are second grader's Laurel Burch Cats. Took 3 weeks to make these~ I am proud as always. Such a good group I had this year.
I hate the days when your day just from running late is already slated to be bad....
Then I stumbled upon this and felt a lot better! This 5 yr old girl has the right attitude on life! I wish all people my age were happy with their life as she is!!! :)
So last night ABC's the Bachelorette aired finally! Remember my picks for the Bachelor in an older entry? I chose Tenley and Ali as the winners for Jake. Of course nasty Vienna won, but this time Ali gets another shot a love. She is so pretty! I only got to watch the first few min of the show, so I didn't get to see who she picked or sent home. I'll have to post my top pics as to who I think she'll pick!
Okay so I have to vent a little bit. Ever see the movie The Sandlot, where Smalls hits his first homer over the fence and asks to how to get the ball back? And remember the kids say, You don't get it back the beast gets it. Well I am feeling much like Hercules (that's the dog's name in the movie) aka the beast with my next door neighbors and things being thrown over our brick divider fence between our houses!! Now don't get me wrong, yes I absolutely adore kids. Come I mean duh I am a teacher! I see over six hundred kids a week at my school and I love each and everyone of them. However, when I come home from a long day, I don't want to have to deal with rowdy next door neighbor kids! First it started with my neighbor who has 2 boys under the age of 6. I think one is 4 or 5 and the other is 3 soon to be 4. Anyway, I noticed all these stones ALL OVER my backyard. WTF is what I am thinking right? Like, how did all these rocks get ALL OVER my grassy backyard? The second thought through my mind was great the landscaper is going to be ticked because he can't mow the lawn with these rocks everywhere! I peer over the fence and what do you know, the rocks are identical to the ones that belong right to my next neighbor's backyard. Hmmmm...are we putting 2 and 2 together here? So I stomp over and tell my my neighbor that her boys threw rocks ALL OVER my backyard and now I have to pick them up so the yard guy can do his job. She said she would have a talk with them. Okay really neighbor?!? Do your motherly duty and SUPERVISE your CHILDREN! What if those rocks had hit my dog while she was outside!? I'd be even more mad than I am now.
Then Yesterday...
A baseball appears in my back yard. I knew immediately where it came from. So just because I was upset from before I decided to let it chill there. I figured heck, if they wanted the dang ball back, they would come knock on my door for it. 2 days go by, and the husband finally has the nerve to ask me to see if I could find the ball that his boys some how accidentally hit over the brick wall into my yard. GRRR...So i chucked it as far as I could over their side. I am beginning to feel like the grumpy old lady who hates kids LOL when really that isn't the case at all, I just want the mom to be more attentive to her kids! Okay. Whew. done ranting.
Well my friend dropped off the vase to me from Ikea today, so I was able to start cutting out the leaves now that I knew how long the twigs/branches would stick out from the vase. This is how it looks so far. All I need is a little dish of some sorts to complete the table. Any suggestions? Send em my way so I can find that perfect find to make the table complete!
I was going through some of my junk mail, and a new catalog caught my eye. It's called Cambria Cove. They had these really awesome gifts in them and all I could think of was if I ever get married I want one of these or if I had a kid I would want one hanging in my child's nursery!
So I made my first purchase off of Etsy 2 weeks ago, and the print I ordered finally came!!! One night I was reading random decorating blogs, and came across this one post this lady had a picture up of. Um yeah it sooooo screamed hello art teacher create this! So began my hunt for the vase, frame, a print I liked, and so on n so forth. Here's what it's suppose to resemble. I have bought the paper and twigs, and thank goodness for Ikea which was the only place I could find any type of a white inexpensive vase to resemble the one pictured! Once I have everything together I will post a finalized picture.
Looking forward to my vegas trip here pretty soon. In preparation I am trying to save some $ for the trip and of course buy things that I will need when I am there!
I have gotten a new make up bag. I think it's totally cute! It's by Kate Spade. I heart amazon!
Only 2 weeks left of school till summer break. Time is always flying.

Well we are getting to the end of the year quickie art lessons! First graders whipped these pandas up in one 40 minute class period! They are super cute!
My 3rd graders made the cutest pirates!!! Thanks paintedpaper where I got the idea a year ago from an old album she still had up on flickr. They were a smash with the kids!
Lastly, my 5th graders have been diligently working on their pen and ink drawings of hummingbirds. Inspired by a lesson I saw a while ago on another art blog :)

French Braids.
I heart braids. They are so elegant looking. Sheik. I learned to braid on all my favorite dolls. Especially this one.
In fact, I think I braided all my barbies hair once I learned how. It's nice to see braids have made a comeback. Only problem these days, is that cutesy little side swept braid doesn't look so "Hot" a girl with bangs!
Considering I have had bangs my whole life. this exact look probably won't be so cute on me. But a girl can dream. :)
