The school year is rapidly coming to an end.  Only 4 wks left of school and I am kinda sad! Still so many art projects I'd like to squeeze in before the year is over!

 My 1st graders made little Mexican men as they called it, wearing sombreros...Cinco DeMayo is tomorrow.

Top 10 Things I Have Learned in my late twenties

1) Being truthful is the most important virtue, for once trust is broken, it is hard to gain back.

2) People are people, and everyone has a story.

3) Focusing on the past or the future will get me nowhere, I need to live now.

4) Helping others always helps me.

About 2 wks ago my kinders were also hard at work on their easter chicks, or April chicks as I started calling them since Easter has come and gone!

1st Grade's Mardi Gras Madness!!

It's me!!!! Tomorrow all my teacher of the year stuff is due....Keepin my fingers crossed!! I don't think anyone finds out who wins till the banquet that is held next month.  Still, a girl can wish and dream!!! 

These are my 4th grader's paper weavings....you wouldn't believe me how many of themm struggled witih the over under concept!

Ok I lied...here are a few new pictures of projects.....

No new art pics for a while.....I have a lot going on over the next few weeks!  First of all, I made it to second rounds for teacher of the year!!! That's HUGE!  I had to write a 3 page essay, and tomorrow I am being video taped teaching a lesson for 10 minutes. I have to have everything turned in by next week. Much to do in so little time!  I'll post it once I get to make copies of it.

The beginning of March usually is a fun start of a month.  Lots of Dr. Suess stories then art projects based on them!  Today First grade made the cat in the hat.  They turned out great! Take a look.  I also had kindergarten celebrate his B day by making giant cakes! But only one of my kinders actually finished the whole thing!
