The time you move across country for a job, only to turn around and go right back to where you started...

Without getting into to much detail, I am just writing a small update-- to get my feelings about the lastest events going on my life.

My husband recently took a job that moved us across country, only to arrive and have it "not work out" to simply put it. (I can't give much detail on it, as we are probably going to take legal action regarding the events)

Our home in Phoenix never sold, so we have somewhere to go home to, and thankfully my husband's previous job are rehiring him back.

As for me and my job, I am not so lucky, and was recently told by my former Principal that he filled my spot only a mere few days ago. I was devastated to say the least.

Right now most slots for teaching have been filled, and I am probably going to be job less when school resumes. Not a good feeling. I can sub, at least that will bring in something, but the downside of course is that most teachers don't miss any school till Nov/Dec!

Prayers and positive thoughts are much needed and welcomed.

If any of you are in Arizona, and know someone who knows someone who is a Principal that needs an art teacher, don't hesitate to give them my name! Obviously my blog showcases much of my student's work and achievements!

I know there is the old saying "Everything happens for a reason" and it will all work out, but I am terrified at the moment, simply because I have always had a teaching job for 9 years!

  1. Oh my gosh! How stressful! glad your husband was able to get his job back. If I hear of anything open for teachers in Phx, I will let you know!

  2. Thinking of you. I've done a lot of moving due to my husband's job and know how hard it is to find a teaching job at the last minute. I would go on the sub list for a couple districts and maybe look into maternity leaves and long term subbing. Best of luck as you get settled back home!

  3. Thinking of you beautiful. I know that probably means very little in the grand scheme of things when it all seems to be falling apart around you. But this beautiful life never gives us more than we can handle and there IS a reason it all worked out this way. In the meantime, don't ever forget that you have blog friends to listen and vent to when you don't feel like there's anyone else. XOX

  4. A similar thing happened to me, only I was lucky enough to find a new job in the new town several weeks after moving for the first job. I hope everything works out for the best.

  5. I'm so sorry that things didn't work out and fell through... that is a sucky feeling! I will send all positive thoughts and prayers your way and I understand how having a solid job for so long and then suddenly to not have one MUST be frightening but remember all the things you are thankful and blessed with and maybe that will help calm you. much love

  7. I can't even imagine! What a nightmare, I hope you are able to take some kind of legal action, hopefully your husband had signed something or has a written offer. It has to be so sad to leave your families :(

  8. I'm so sorry to hear that I hope you win the case against his company because that's horrible to move you all the way across the country to have it go south. I hope you find a job you do great work! Always love seeing the kids work on here! But that is good news that your house is still there at least you don't have to jump that hurdle too..

  12. Hi, I just did a tour at a new location of a school called Hillcrest Academy on Bell and the 51 freeway. It's a charter school and they have art 3 times a week, I believe. I'm not sure if they are hiring but, I thought I'd pass it along. The Principal is Nicole Kirkley and the Assistant Principal is Kevin Knaack. Again, I'm not sure if it's a good lead but I thought I'd share it as they don't start school until Aug 18th and it's a new location. :) Hope it works out for you!

  15. I am literally living this situation right now. We moved from L.A. to Louisville for a job two months ago and now it's "not working out" and we are facing a move back. This has been financially and emotionally devastating. Did I mention we have a 6 month old baby!? Gah. Help me. We are now struggling to find hubby a new job back home from all the way out here. We somehow must come up with the money for the move back as well as rent somewhere without a job lined up. I could just die.
