2 Book Reviews!

On Goodreads I rated this book 3 stars.

The basic gist of the story according to Amazon:
"
Sometimes the best man isn't even in the wedding party...

Gavin Greene is a hopeless romantic. He's also a professional one: He writes the wedding column for a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper, covering spectacular parties from coast to coast. But there's a thin line between being a hotshot reporter on assignment...and being a single guy alone on a Saturday night at someone else's wedding.
Everything changes on New Year's when Gavin meets Melinda, a travel writer with an adventurous spirit. A moonlit stroll across a Manhattan rooftop  seems to seal the deal. But then she slips away.
Gavin crisscrosses New York City to find her again, navigating stressed-out brides, gossip blogs, a budget-cutting boss and his daft but well-meaning parents.  Along the way, he learns that there's something worse than losing the woman of his dreams -- having to write an article about her wedding."

My take:
This was like the male version of the 27 dresses starring Katherine Heigl & James Marsden. I was a little bored only because it was written from the male perspective which I found to be lacking in the details of getting a female reader even interested in the love story!

Now some of you readers may find it refreshing to read a story from the perspective of a male navigating the dating world. For anyone who's fumbled their way through online dating, being set-up and working up the nerve to approach someone in a coffee shop, you'll feel empathy for Gavin.

If any of you read this, you'll have to let me know!

Personally I saw this much more made into a movie, than book. And I NEVER say that! I have always preached that book is better, but in this case, I can totally see this being made into a movie, and being so much more enjoyable than reading it!

Next up, Bared to you by Sylvia Day
If you're looking for a book similar To Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James then BARED TO YOU is THE BOOK! Some may think it's a rip of Fifty Shades, as I kind of felt that way reading throughout the book, but it is what it is!

The relationship between Eva and Gideon seemed unbelievably forced and completely awkward. There is no back story to why Gideon acts the way he does or feels the need to "possess" Eva. These two are so dysfunctional and immature, that they should probably complete counseling apart before they even considered couples counseling after dating for a week.  It is exactly like Fifty Shades with contracts, BDSM references, a billionaire in a relationship contract with a younger woman, he having a room (in this case a hotel room) set aside for his affairs, and Gideon Cross having deep dark psychological issues like Christian Grey. Even the names sound alike with similar syllables, CG with GC. Well, all I can say is the more books similar to Fifty Shades, the better. For a fan of Fifty Shades, I thoroughly enjoyed Bared To You, although the similarities are glaring.
