Music to my ears

All weekend long I have been "streaming" Carrie Underwood's new album via I Tunes.

Oh. EM. GEE.

It's really good! I cannot remember ever liking a country album in it's entirety as I do with this one!

The beauty of streaming, is if you really like a song and want to hear it again, you just have to drag the little wheel back to the time where you heard the song and it starts from there again! :)

Track #2 Blown Away is definitely one of my favorite songs by her.
Preview it and let me  know what cha  all think!

Give my new fave song by her a listen here!

Book Review!

I

Summary :

Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house. But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven, and demanding Fifty Shades. While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront her anger and envy of the women who came before her and make the most important decision of her life.

I just finished Book II in Fifty Shades of Grey. O M G.
Seriously got even more intense and better than the first book.
Despite all the sexual erotic sex that takes place in the book, I think the underlying reason why women or people are enjoying this series so much is simply because underneath the kinky shit, it's really about 2 people finding love and battling demons.

Great book. Five stars for sure!

I'm onto book III now, freaking out as to what I will read once I finish the series!!

I can't envision anyone else playing the role better as Christian Grey other than Ryan Gosling.
I read a huge article in Entertainment weekly, where I do believe that the Author E L James spoke of wanting Gosling to be cast for the role.

Score!

Now who'd play the innocent Ana Steele?
Personally I see Alexis Bledel as a perfect fit. She's very green, mossy, which is what the character calls for. Innocence. Virginal. Who ever is casted has to give that off.

Classic Literature

I saw this and thought I should really see how many I've "read" on this list. I left a few unmarked, as I have only seen the movies, not read the books (Such as Little Princess and Breakfast at Tiffanys etc etc)

Have to say that To Kill a Mockingbird and Jane Eyre are my faves to date. As a child I LOVED Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and of course Little House on the Prairie!

What have you read on this list?
I'm such a bookworm!

By 30, you should have...

This article was published in Glamour Magazine. It caught my eye, since it's talking about girls in their late 20s early 30s. For all you fellow bloggers, maybe you can relate?

* Typo error--spelled Fiance' wrong above but bec I made that in Photoshop, and I already emptied my trash, I cannot fix the error cept to type it down here and let y'all know I mean fiance' not finace! lol
By 30, you should know ...
1. How to fall in love without losing yourself. (Check!)
2. How you feel about having kids. (Yes, but I've always said, I must be married, and with SOME money in the bank!)
3. How to quit a job, break up with a man, and confront a friend without ruining the friendship. (check, check, and sadly most confrontations with so called "Friends" usually do end or did end up with ruining the friendship!)
4. When to try harder and when to walk away.
5. How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next. What?
6. The names of the secretary of state, your great-grandmothers, and the best tailor in town.
( 0-3 here eek)
7. How to live alone, even if you don’t like to. (I've mastered this!)
8. Where to go -- be it your best friend’s kitchen table or a yoga mat -- when your soul needs soothing.
9. That you can’t change the length of your legs, the width of your hips, or the nature of your parents. (duh no brainer)
10. That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over.
(that happened for me the day my mother passed away)
11. What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love.
12. That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs, or not flossing for very long.
13. Who you can trust, who you can’t, and why you shouldn’t take it personally.
14. Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault.
15. Why they say life begins at 30

What's on your personal list of things to have and know -- and possibly do -- before turning 30?

American Reunion

Took Mister Wonderful to see American Reunion this weekend.

I was in high school when American Pie first debuted. I was in the exact grade that the main characters in the movie played as (seniors).

To me, this movie is like my generations' version of the Hangover.

A Classic.

The movie was great. I really enjoyed it. The cast looks so much older than when they first filmed! They showed tons of "yearbook" photos in the movie and you can really see the youth in their faces! Totally relatable for me!

Oh and the ENTIRE ORIGINAL cast was in the movie. I have to admit, this little factor I think is why the movie was so great. Nadia made her appearance, Jessica (Vicky's best friend) was there, the SHERMINATOR was in it LOL The MILF guys...the list is endless.

I LOVED that they even played some of the same songs that were in the first movie in this one!!!

Oh and did I mention that Tara Reid looks terrific in the movie?! She's so gorgeous!

book review

Oh lordy. I just finished FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.

The book that everyone is talking about. The book that was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

The book they say Ryan Gosling is going to play as Christian Grey, the lead male in the novel.

Lordy Lordy. My word.

First and foremost, I cannot say a lot about the book because saying just a little gives A LOT away.
I can tell you if you don't or can't stomach talking about sex, sexual positions, sexual dominance and things of this nature DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. This book is very erotic (think harlequin romance novels but to the EXTREME!!!)

A must read in my book. I even ordered the other 2 books before I even finished the first if that even tells you anything about how much I liked reading it!

busy bee busy me!

Just dropping all my readers a line....I have no blog posts planned for the week for the first time in 2 years.

Work has been extremely hectic, as I have 2 big upcoming art shows and I just have had no time or energy to blog about much of anything when I get home.

As soon as these events are over, I hope to resume to blogging normally! :)

And can I just say, as a die hard Pom mom, I think this hair cut for poms is HIDEOUS?!?!

I just think the breed looks ridiculous with a hair cut like this! not to mention once you shave a pom's hair, it never grows back the same way meaning their hair quality changes.

Don't worry Aspen, Your mane shall always remain a mane on you! :)

just some art...

Recap:

My 4th 5th and 6th graders in After School Art have been feverishly working on Zentangles.

When then morphed the Zentangle Idea into an Origami box.

They turned out great!

3rd graders have been working on their 3-D Sunflower/Flower Vases inspired by Van Gogh
Once we have our end of the year art show, I will show more pics of these!!

Easter Weekend

The fiance' and I have been bad about taking pics lately.

We went hiking Easter weekend---Camelback Mountain to be exact. It was the second time for us to hike it since we first had met and since the first time Mister Wonderful had ever been to AZ let alone climb a beast of a mountain!

We forgot to take a picture of ourselves all dressed up in our easter best this year! Slacking I know!

Anyhow, the goal is to hike a different mountain each weekend. We LOVE to hike. For me I'd rather hike each day than ever step foot in a gym. It's such a great work out.

Movie Review!

I finally saw "The Hunger Games" in theater.

I am the biggest movie critic there is when it comes to books being made into movies.

This did NOT disappoint. I really thought it was as close as the movie could get to the book.

The only character I pictured differently was Kato. I definitely pictured a much more heavy set beastly man more than the boy who almost resembled Peeta a little to much.

Great movie. They did an awesome job matching it as close to the book as possible!

I also watched these over the weekend too:
This was a great movie. Matt Damon is such a talented actor. And the little girl that plays Rosie (his daughter in the film) was terrific.

This was really a feel good film!

If you don't like movies about the government or politics and such then this isn't the movie for you.

J. Edgar Hoover is not to be confused with Herbert Hoover, a former President!

I found it really interesting to learn that so many people pretty much laughed in his face when it came to his idea of having the world having their "finger prints" on a card to help identify criminals.

Not a fast paced movie, but very informative!

Book Review!

In one sitting, I finished this book:

Holy Moses.

I was only in 7th or 8th grade when I remember seeing/hearing about OJ Simpson and the famous car chase in LA from the police and how miraculously he was found "innocent".

BARF

In my opinion, he murdered his wife, her friend, and totally got away with it just as Casey Anthony got away with murder of her daughter Kaylee.

What I gathered from this book:

*Money is power in hollywood.

*without OJ's money, Nicole and her family would have been nothing.
*The Kardashians were a very big part in OJ and Nicole's lives.

* This book was published many years before they were a "famous" family( the Kardashians) and they were talked about a ton in this book.
I found that weird.

anyway...

Did she deserve all the abuse?
NO. Absolutely not.

Am I completely disgusted that she had 6 deliberate miscarriages after her 2nd child because she didn't want another child by OJ? Yes. I'm disgusted that a man would tell his wife she's disgusting and fat when pregnant. Who does that?!?! Oh yeah, OJ did.

Was she as guilty of cheating on him as he was on her?
Judging from this book, Oh yeah.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but I wouldn't peg her a this perfect holier than thou woman either. Any woman that runs 9 miles a day has to be brain washed by a man who thinks she can't get big if she's pregnant.

The book jumps around a lot in years, but it was easy to follow.
The whole case is creepily fascinating and really really heartbreakingly sad. Check out the book if you are into reading about celebs, money, murder and the lives they secretly live.
