Susie Homemaker = Epic Fail

So there is this recipe floating around the web for Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies  And I thought why not right? Look at how they are suppose to turn out right?
Image via Here!

2 sticks softened butter
3/4 Cup packed light brown sugar
1 Cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz. bag chocolate chips
1 bag Oreo Cookies
1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Cream butter and sugars until well combined.  Add in eggs (one at a  time) and vanilla until well combined.
3.  In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda.  Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.  Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie.  Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo Cookie.  Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo Cookie is enclosed with dough.  Place onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes.

And ya wanna know what they turn out as?

Um yeah. Anybody wanna help me figure out how one follows a recipe to the "T" and yet they come out HUGE? They look like cookies on steroids!!! hahah.

I think I shall leave the baking to Michabella! (a fellow blogger) because clearly I suck at it!

  1. Did they still taste good? Don't ask me, mine probably would have come out twice as big as yours. My food never looks good -- but it tastes good. :)

  2. Shoot as long as they taste good, I wouldn't worry about what they looked like :)

  3. They had to have still been good! I made those a few months ago and don't worry mine were just as awkwardly huge. I don't think it was you:)

  4. I wouldn't call those an epic fail - they look good!! So they're not exactly like that first picture but I would definitely still eat one if you offered it to me :)

    Can I have one? haha

  5. I def would have one too :) Mine seem to always do that too when I make cookies. ugh BOO!

  6. haha cookies on 'roids!! I bet they tasted delish, though, right??

  7. Oh, I bet they are so delicious though!

  8. I think they look fine, but that is probably because I don't cook, lol!

    I bet they were delish!

  9. Ahh i've been trying to find that recipe! I bet they turned out sooo yummy!

  10. I commend you for trying girl bc when it comes to recipes, my plan of action is usually steer clear!

So glad i found ya! can't believe I didn't before since I see some of my bloggy friends on here!

  11. I made these cookies yesterday. I didnt use a cookie scoop, I just put enough dough around the oreo and they turned out grest.

  12. Just found your blog :) I had seen that same picture and kept telling myself I had to make those cookies. I should've known that they wouldn't turn out like the picture. I mean, when do they ever, right? Yours still look like they were yummy though! :)

  13. Thanks for the review - I've been wanting to try this recipe for awhile. I've been curious how it works but have had serious doubts.

  14. they still look yummy girl!

    Have a Happy 4th!

  15. I bake as less as possible! :)

  16. I tried these for a little treat for the 4th of July. Mine turned out just as big, but still yummy. I am going to try a mini oreo cookie next round!
