The twins have come a long way in ten years! I wasn't thrilled with how the book ended, but then again, there wouldn't of been a story ten years later had Francine Pascal not changed it up a bit!
The great thing about this book, was in case you plum forgot some key players in the Wakefield Twins lives, she made sure to "catch you up" on those long lost characters!
I loved the book. Makes me want to start from book one and read all the way up through the University years as I had did so long ago. I can say as a young teen, reading these books brought me great joy as thinking back about them now still makes me smile.
If you've never read a Sweet Valley book then you'll totally be lost. Gotta start from the beginning. :)
That's all folks. I do apologize that I haven't had much to say/write about! My world has been pretty mellow (which is a good thing right?)
Another 2 weeks till I can go and get Rob Lowe's new book. I am counting the days!!!!!
Ahhhh! I'm dying to read it!
ReplyDeleteRemember when they did the tv show?
I loved Sweet Valley!
Speaking of...do you remember the spin off books? There were 2 books and they were like the twins great-great-great-grandmother's and they were so good. I loved those! It was like reading about the twins but in a different era. Please tell me you know what I'm talking about.
Thanks for the review! I have been wondering if it was good.

I saw a review for this book in Entertainment Weekly and thought about you. It's been FOREVER since I read the books, so I'm glad she catches you up on the characters first.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 30 Day Shred, I'm going to wait until the end to weigh myself. I will say that I can notice some more toning in my arms and legs already.
Funny, I just posted a book review on my blog too, I thought it was soo funny to see someone else posting one at virtually exactly the same time...
ReplyDeleteI wondered how that book was, thanks for posting the review, now I'll just have to get my hands on it, I used to love the sweet valley books...

i pretty much loved the book too, though by the end it was a bit predictable. but i'd definitely recommend it as a good beach book or easy read. i thought it was great too that they caught you up on all the characters. so many of them i barely remember!
ReplyDeletenow that i finished this i need something new to read!
Okay....so I'm back. There were 3 books. They were called Sweet Valley Saga. LOVED THEM! When I was younger I loved reading those 3 books and loved how they were in a different time than the other SV books. One was the Wakefield Legacy, one was the Fowlers and the other was the Patmans. Ummm...if you've never read them I'm suggesting you do now. :) Perhaps maybe I'll even go back and read them myself. It's been a while.
ReplyDeletei had no idea this book existed. but i TOTALLY remember the sweet valley high series. i think i read sweet valley kids series. is that for real? or am i making it up?
ReplyDeleteSO glad to hear a review on this book, I will add this to my list!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your song on your blog
Oh my gosh! I TOTALLY need to read this! I used to read the Sweet Valley Twins in 5th grade..hahaha! And those books were my FAVORITE!!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! I had completely forgotten about the Sweet Valley Twins!!! I loved them, and the Babysitter's club and the Box Car children!!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember reading a few of those books when I was younger! I would love to go back to the beginning and get all caught up sometime, though. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I HAVE to read this! Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI used to absolutely adore these books! Do you remember the one about the girls spending the summer in a chateau? Or what about the earthquake? Ahh I need to get this book! :)
ReplyDeleteI never read these books...but that's SO fun that there is a story 10 years later. And it's so cute that you just LOVE this new book. :)
ReplyDeleteI am reading this right now! I am anxious to see what happens.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I might have to go give that book a buy! I am a big book worm but recently I have bought too many books so I need to get through those first! I'm on it. :)

I am so disappointed. It seems that I was the only one who didnt love it. I feel left out because I was SO looking forward to the book and wanted to love it. Perhaps I had TOO high of expectations.
ReplyDeleteI loved learning about what the girls were up to, but it made me sick to see Jessica and Todd together.
OK, I'm saying all this, and I have about 40 pages left. I just cant force myself to WANT to read it. Ill finish soon, but i doubt it will pick up. Its already very predictable.
That said, I'm SO happy that all of you loved it as much as I wanted to.
Shelley
I have purchased the book, but I have a few others I want to read first. I've heard mixed reviews on this book, but I am sure I'll love it since you loved it!
ReplyDeleteI was beyond obsessed with Sweet Valley!!!!
ReplyDeleteAaahh! That's awesome! I had no clue she had written these Confidential books! I used to LOVE Sweet Valley High, I'm going to have to go out and get this book!
ReplyDeleteI loved the books. My sister and I had everyone and Babysitter's Club. Did anyone have Sweet Valley the Game. Wish I could find it.
ReplyDeleteThis really makes me want to read the whole series through again! I've forgotten so much!
ReplyDeleteI used to adore those books! This is definitely on my to read list :)
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my gosh. The Rob Lowe book. I can't wait to read it. He's just one of my very very faves (and the cover's not too shabby either, ha!)
I agree with that the ending was and def. predictable - but getting getting caught up with the wakefield twins was amazing, right? I am also thinking about starting from book one...but that could be dangerous.
