My Holiday Favorites

Music.  I don't think I've ever gone a single Christmas not listening to Amy Grant's "A Christmas Album."
I grew up listening to this album with my Dad.  We have had wars with sharing her cd over the holiday too!

All time favorite Christmas movie

Movies: I have MANY holiday movies I LOVE esp like Home Alone, The Holiday, It's A Wonderful Life etc etc but all time favorite goes to Chevy Chase and the Griswolds!

Children's Film: Hands down goes to Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Another movie I grew up watching and one of the few kids movies I own on DVD still as an adult!

Treats:  I love that these are only sold around Christmas other wise I'd be one chunky lady! My favorite holiday treat by far!

Traditions:  On Christmas eve, as a child, my brother and I were always allowed to open ONE christmas gift of our choice!
We also, and still do to this day, attend Midnight Mass.

And my new personal holiday favorite apparel is this shirt:

I got this on ebay for like 16 bucks. What a steal right?! Seller's name is hagelsshirtshack

What are some of your holiday favorites!?

  1. My sister and I always got to open one gift on Christmas Eve also. I've always loved that!! Believe it or not I have never seen National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. It came up in a conversation with a friend of mine a few days ago.. I think I've seen every other Christmas movie out there but that one doesn't right a bell? I plan to fix that this weekend(:

  4. I've been eyeballing that shirt too, but the sweater version! So awesome! I also go to the Christmas Eve service at my church after dinner. I don't usually enjoy going to church much (my church is more geared towards older/elderly people), but the Christmas Eve service is the best!

  8. HA!! I LOVE that shirt with the Home Alone reference! One thing I love about the holiday season is the amount of movies being shown on TV at home. Sometimes you just need to get out of the house, but other times it’s nicer to have a movie night at home with friends and family. We'll be seeing the Hobbit and Django at the theater, but at home I'll be using the Hopper to record as many classic favorites as possible. I work a lot at DISH, so I love having a DVR with 2,000 hours of recording space. Most of the movies we want will be airing at some point on the big four networks, so I'll also be setting my PrimeTime Anytime feature to catch them all. PTAT records the entire primetime lineup on all four major networks, and with that kind of recording space, I'll be able to store them away until next year! Now, I’ll be able to have non-holiday movie night to watch movies, and can record all the Christmas movies simultaneously in another part of the house!
