Art Show 2012

Sorry friends. I know I've been very MIA for the last 2 months. And of course, this is very unlike me, considering I've been at this here ole blog for over a few years now and haven't missed all that many posts till the last month or so!

What I've been up to:

My school had our very first art show! We had a HUGE HUGE HUGE turn out. We raised 560 dollars in "donations" which will cover buying all new glazes and clay for next year. WOO HOO!

There were many other pieces of art NOT photographed (cough cough mister wonderful missed a few) He was the camera man in all the mayhem while I ran around constantly fixing "falling" pieces and such. My 5th graders coil pots he forgot to photograph, plus their starry Night van gogh pieces he didn't get up close, my 3rd graders 3D vases (but I did blog about those earlier a few months ago) and my 3rd graders clay frogs.

I am exhausted. Mentally and Physically. The last month of teaching has been the most demanding.

That's all for now. :) I'm alive, just trying to unwind a bit and soak in all that has happened!

Wedding Fear

The only fear I worry.dread.fear. on my wedding day, is being disappointed with my hair.
I am a FREAK about my hair. No joke.

My fear you ask?

My fear is that on my "big day", that I will be unhappy with my hair do. So often hair stylists like to give me the "prom" look. Y'all know what I mean by that right?

This look

Case in point I was in my friend's wedding in 2009 and paid 90 dollars for what I thought was going to be a fancy UP DO that I couldn't do myself right?

WRONG

I was furious. Unfortunately I let my big head er hair get the best of me, and I shed a few tears for all the wrong reasons on my best friends wedding. Selfish? Probably. I was just mad I paid so much money for hair do that I curl all the time without the assistance of a stylist!

So what constitutes as a non prom up do look?

*these 2 pictures are of a girl I went to HS with borrowed them off FB :)

this picture is the ONLY pic on pinterest and such that I have REALLY liked for an updo

These pictures depict hair styles I know for a fact that I cannot do myself.

I'm more than likely going to have my hair all the way up. It will be extremely windy along the beach, and what's the point in a hair style styled down, when the curls will get all knotted and such?

I don't know! I keep changing my mind!

Another factor I have to deal with is going to salon in Hawaii that obviously I've never been to, so I'm hoping that won't be a disaster. We are in fact flying into Hawaii 2 days early, so that is 2 days I can of trial hair!

All I know is, NO PROM HAIR!

Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy COMPLETE!

Well, I did it! Finished ALL the books in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.

LOVED LOVED LOVED the books.

Underneath the kinkery sex shiznit, was a romance that kept me turning page after page.

SO SO SO GOOD. I don't have one bad thing to say about the book and lets be real, we all know that doesn't happen to often!

If you've read the books, then you totally get these funny quotes.

I am totally at a loss for what I will read over the summer.

I'm not sure my fluffy chic lit books can compare!

PS BLOGGER YOU SUCK BALLS

Thanks for deleting this POST YESTERDAY

Movie Review x2

We recently watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. I didn't really care for this movie. It was kinda slow for me. I didn't cry or get emotional even though it dealt with 9/11 and such.

I'd say skip this one.

We also started to watch
War Horse.
When I say started, I mean I made it through 47 minutes of the movie and started to bawl my eyes out.

I begged Mister Wonderful to go watch it in another room without me, as he so graciously agreed to do.

I am EXTREMELY sensitive to animals in movies.
It's been years since I've watched Lassie, Benji, Old Yeller, Black Beauty. I Have a REALLY hard time watching anything that depicts the relationship between humans and animals and all that they endure.

Well, I went ahead and read the synopsis on wikipedia and I'm glad I did. There's no way I could of watched all that I read unfold on the screen.

I checked in on Mister Wonderful at the very end of the movie.
He said he cried!

Hold the phone.

Did my fiance' just admit he cried watching a movie?

He said he hasn't cried since seeing the Notebook for the first time!

So if you can stomach watching gut wrenching emotion pertaining to animals, then this is right up your alley.

Steven Spielberg knows how to pull at your heart strings.

Music to my ears

All weekend long I have been "streaming" Carrie Underwood's new album via I Tunes.

Oh. EM. GEE.

It's really good! I cannot remember ever liking a country album in it's entirety as I do with this one!

The beauty of streaming, is if you really like a song and want to hear it again, you just have to drag the little wheel back to the time where you heard the song and it starts from there again! :)

Track #2 Blown Away is definitely one of my favorite songs by her.
Preview it and let me  know what cha  all think!

Give my new fave song by her a listen here!

Book Review!

I

Summary :

Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house. But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven, and demanding Fifty Shades. While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront her anger and envy of the women who came before her and make the most important decision of her life.

I just finished Book II in Fifty Shades of Grey. O M G.
Seriously got even more intense and better than the first book.
Despite all the sexual erotic sex that takes place in the book, I think the underlying reason why women or people are enjoying this series so much is simply because underneath the kinky shit, it's really about 2 people finding love and battling demons.

Great book. Five stars for sure!

I'm onto book III now, freaking out as to what I will read once I finish the series!!

I can't envision anyone else playing the role better as Christian Grey other than Ryan Gosling.
I read a huge article in Entertainment weekly, where I do believe that the Author E L James spoke of wanting Gosling to be cast for the role.

Score!

Now who'd play the innocent Ana Steele?
Personally I see Alexis Bledel as a perfect fit. She's very green, mossy, which is what the character calls for. Innocence. Virginal. Who ever is casted has to give that off.
