Book Review

So most of you who follow me know that I am a HUGE Nicholas Sparks fan. I own all of his books in hardback, and well, I just adore his writing, his love stories.

Last night I finished his latest novel and wasn't quite sure how I felt about his book!

I always read N. Spark's Acknowledgement section before the story starts. I was taken back by Mr. Sparks admitting that he had a hard time writing this book. Or as he worded it, it was a "challenge".

Once I finished the book, all I could think to myself was, man was he right! I think the author really had trouble coming up with a decent plot for this book.
I usually never "not like" any of his books, but this one isn't a favorite for sure. I kind of feel like he has run out of ideas/things to write about for his characters in his novel. Which, saddens me of course. I found this book very predictable and of course in true N. Sparks fashion, a huge tragedy at the end. Ahhhh.

Has anyone else read it? what did you think? Again, I love him and his books, but this one I didn't care for all that much.

  1. I agree 100%! I had the hardest time getting into the story! It was kind of "jumpy" and I did not like how it ended at all!!!!

  4. It was definitely not my favorite. It never could seem to find the "hook" and I HATED the ending.

It was definitely different than the rest of his that's for sure. And you're not alone with owning all the hardback copies :)

  5. His books are sold here in Rome too but I have never read anythign by him. I have read just about all of John Grisham's though. My favorite books though are romantic or funny novels. I'm into Shopaholic these days. That's because my daughter is always out shopping. I'm Sicilian by the way, and my husband is Japanese but we're in Rome these days. I'm following you from today.

  14. so interesting that he found this book a challenge... but then resorted to his usual plot line! i used to always read his books... but then i just couldn't handle him breaking my heart over and over again! i always cry like a little baby.
