So I stumbled upon a photograph of someone that collects vintage Pyrex.
And I couldn't help but think, man if I had extra money to splurge, I'd totally hunt thrift shops and Goodwill for these beauties!
I just adore these three dishes!
I dunno perhaps I am just so partial to glass. plastic just isn't good anymore. Esp for heating things in!
Do any of you have any old school Pyrex?
I have a old Pyrex bowl that used to be my mothers. I LOVE it! It is so big I use it as a pasta dish! I LOVE pyrex in general I do not use plastic for anything anymore!
ReplyDeletewe have several antique shops that hoard vintage pyrex! i love it. i can't afford it for the price they are offering and i think i would like mis-matched rather than a complete set.
ReplyDeletevintage is totally the new 'new' and it's no longer 'metrosexual' its 'retrosexual', lol.
All of those pictures brought me right back to childhood at my grandparents house. I remember using those bowls for making brownies, and the casserole dishes for making homemade baked mac n'cheese. You have me now wondering if any of those bowls are tucked in boxes somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI have tons of vintage pyrex and I love it! If you are patient you can find really good deals at flea markets and garage sales...good luck!
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSSS! I ADORE Vintage Pyrex! Some of it is WAY to pricey but I have found some for $5 or less and i scoop 'em up! Love LOVE LOVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any but I would love to own some :)
ReplyDeleteIf I looked, I could probably find some of these in my moms or grammas kitchens!
ReplyDeletei love these!!
ReplyDeletei have a couple over here but will need to get some when i go back home.
Oh I love it!!! I agree that glass is my preference over plastic. I have heard some horror stuff with using plastic to heat things up, so I have always used glass dishes throughout the years. Vintage is really making a comeback!!! :) xo
ReplyDeleteyes! my mom has has it for years, before it was cool, and luckily I've started my own little collection!
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd image with the pink, blue, and yellow are my favorite!
I was actually at a dinner party on Saturday night and they were using vintage pyrex. My friend and I complimented how nice it was! It's funny that you shared this post today too!
ReplyDeletemy gma has the old school pyrex ones, maybe i'll inherit them someday?
ReplyDeleteOMG I actually have one of those bowls! hahaa I thought they were so ugly about 6 mos ago..but now, hmmm..new uses. I have a bunch of old stuff like this my parents gave me!

ReplyDeleteI adore vintage Pyrex! They are just so cute. My grandmother still has several. She's a lucky lady!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those antique dish loving ladies and of all my scouring the stores, vintage Pyrex is extremely rare AND expensive...but definitely worth the price. I just don't think I could use it though - I'd set it out to look at, haha.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these! I had no idea pyrex had such awesome old items.
